From Bohin, a wonderful thread plait, perfect to keep in your sewing basket or take in your suitcase for emergency repairs.
100% polyester thread, about 18" in length.
Individual color strands can be pulled out from the braid.
(It's loosely braided, so that does seem doable, although we haven't tried yet)
About 400 threads in multiple colors as shown.
