The color is achieved by being "treated with natural varnish that has been used as an antiseptic and water-proof coating in the Orient for 1000 years.
After being exposed to ultra-violet rays, oxidation, temperature,and humidity, the thread gradually change colors, each one more elegant.

There's definitely a different hand to this thread compared to other types of dyed cotton thread. You can feel the "finish". A very unique addition to your hand sewing project.
I do not know if this runs when dampened or wet, so test it before you use it on projects that will be washed.
